The Second Dai Shugui Environmental Chemistry Scholarship Award Ceremony and Outstanding Alumni Forum was held in the College of Environmental Science and Engineering
On December 19th 2020, the Second Dai Shugui Environmental Chemistry Scholarship Award Ceremony and Outstanding Alumni Forum was held in B119 Yushan Hall, College of the Environmental Science and Engineering. Song Wenhua,chairman of Dai Shugui Environmental Chemistry Scholarship, Zhang Lunliang, chair of the alumni association of our college, Dong Liang, director of Persistent Organic Pollutants Laboratory of National Environmental Analysis and Testing Center,and other outstanding alumni attended the ceremony.Dr. Song Rengao, director of Water Quality Research and Treatment Department of Louisville Water Company in the United States, attended the ceremony via video link. On behalf of our college,Prof. Sun Hongwen, dean of the School of Environment attended the meeting , and Mr. Chen Wansheng, deputy Secretary and vice dean of the School presided over the meeting.
Prof.Sun Hongwen, Mr.Song Wenhua and Mr. Zhang Lunliang presented prizes to 10 winners of the Second Dai Shugui Environmental Chemistry Scholarship Award and made speeches on the history and development of the College of Environmental Science and Engineering, the original intention of establishing the scholarship, disciplines and students' expectations.
After the award ceremony, Dr. Song Rengao shared his personal understanding of the development of environmental science at home and abroad, career prospects of students in the related field, key points in research and other aspects through video conference.Mr.Dong Liang gave a report on the relevant research methods and hot topics of pops he was engaged in.
Professor Dai Shugui (September 22, 1927-March 16,2010) is a famous educator, pioneer and founder of environmental chemistry in China, and one of the first batch of doctoral supervisor of environmental chemistry in China. He has devoted his life to the construction and development of environmental science, especially the discipline of environmental chemistry in Nankai University.
