On the afternoon of October 11, 2019, the second session of Mass Spectrometry Series Seminar on Advanced Analysis and Technical Exchanges was held successfully in B119, the College of Environmental Science and Engineering, Jinnan Campus, Nankai University.

Research fellow Ting Ruan from the center for ecological environment research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was invited to give a lecture and host a Q&A section. The participants had a heated discussion on the application of high-resolution mass spectrometry in screening and analysis of new organic pollutants, identification of degradation products and metabonomics analysis strategies. In the Q&A section, we had an in-depth exchange and discussion on the screening strategy of new organic pollutants, and realized the purpose of this meeting around high-resolution mass spectrometry to assist the research in the field of environment. Two senior application engineers, Teng Guo and Jiangtao Xing, also brought wonderful lecture reports for this technology seminar, which summarized the application and research strategies of orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry in environmental fields such as new pollutant screening, exposure histology and metabonomics in detail.

More than 40 people from the College of Environmental Science and Engineering, and the College of Pharmacy of Nankai University, Tianjin University of Technology and other units attended the technology seminar.
