Before returning to China, I had long been engaged in the research and development of membrane technology and related water treatment in Norway, the United States and Canada. After returning to China, I established a membrane distillation and membrane bioreactor laboratory in Tianjin University, and carried out research and development of membrane distillation desalination technology and a new generation of sewage treatment technology in response to the major needs of my country's resources and environment, and obtained a series of internationally leading foundations and technological applications achievements. Breakthroughs have been made in the industrialization of high-tech. I presided over and participated in key projects of the National Science and Technology Support Plan, the Ministry of Science and Technology International Cooperation Water Project, the State Oceanic Administration's major projects, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Tianjin Science and Technology Plan key major projects. I has published more than 80 high-level scientific papers and books, and holds a number of international and domestic patents.
